Staff Profiles

We're only as good as our staff. Thankfully they're really, really good.

Gorete (Tita)

Head of Nursery

I have been running my own setting for 22 years.

I am multi-lingual, very well travelled and passionate about different cultures and recognising children as unique individuals. I have a BA Degree in Early Years and I am an Early Years Professional.

I connect with children and feel a great sense of accomplishment in helping children achieve and enjoy their time at the nursery. Working with children gives me much joy and happiness.

My hobbies include walking, cooking "dinner parties with my friends", and gardening, shopping, travelling and listening to Andrea Bocelli. Most of all I get a great sense of achievement and feeling of well-being when I help others to succeed.

Better known as Jessie, it gives me great pleasure being in home corner with a few children and making cups of tea and pretending to eat cakes and so on. I have always wanted to work with children and enjoy all aspects of playing and being part of children's lives. I have achieved my NVQ level III qualification, enabling me to support children's language and knowledge; I really feel I can make a difference.

Children at the nursery like me to do rolly pollys, cartwheels and generally like to watch me being 'sporty'. I enjoy demonstrating to children the benefits of keeping fit and healthy. I enjoy spending time with my boyfriend and family and I like to socialise. I am quite an outgoing person and can come across as very confident when in fact I am quite shy.

I have worked with children for 5 years and I am Level 3 qualified. I have attended short courses such as SENCO, managing behaviour positively, implementing the EYFS and disability awareness.

I really enjoy working with children. Knowing I have helped them with their development gives me a real sense of achievement.

Away from nursery, I am studying for a degree in Psychology. I enjoy socialising, shopping and taking care of my pets.

I have a lifelong interest in children and education with a background in Theatre in Education both in the UK and France.
I taught Speech and Drama in a London girls' school and also worked as Inclusive Support Coordinator at Chickenshed Theatre before moving to the seaside.

I am a trained Holistic Therapist and have a Level 3 qualification in Early Learning and Childcare. I have worked as a Children's Centre volunteer and am also a Parent Governor at a local Primary School.

I love being here at The Haven and supporting the learning and development of these fantastic children. And, when I am not there, I love spending time in the sea with my own children.

Better known as Aga, I come from Poland. I have always been interested in working with children and began as a childcarer for children with ages ranging from just six months which taught me a lot about children and their varying needs.

At the age of 17, I began working as a volunteer with disabled teenagers which was a challenge I enjoyed.

I am now progressing my career as a professional childcarer by studying towards an NCFE Level 3 Diploma in Early Learning and Childcare.

In my spare time I like reading, watching films and cooking. I also have a keen interest in darts, being part of team who have achieved some high-ranking tournament wins, plus 4th place in a European tournament.

My name is Isabel and I originally come from Spain. Having my own children has been the most wonderful and rewarding experience of my life and in spite of being qualified in Beauty & Therapeutic Massage and Reflexology, I decided I wanted to learn more about children but in a more academic way.

I have now completed my NVQ Level 3 and alongside my NVQ certification, I have undertaken several other courses in professional development in subjects including Mark Making and Behaviour Management.

Away from nursery I love dancing, listening to music, reading (all kinds of books), walking and spending time with my children enjoying nature and outdoor activities.
